Role Description The Senior Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kathwada, Ahmedabad. The role involves leading the design and development of textile and ASRS machinery, from concept through detailed engineering and final validation. Daily responsibilities include creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, collaborating with mechanical and electrical teams, optimizing product designs for performance, manufacturability, and safety, and supporting prototype build, testing, design revisions and most important ERP data creation and validation (Microsoft business central). The Senior Design Engineer will coordinate closely with production, quality, and service teams to resolve technical issues, improve existing product lines, and contribute to customized solutions for diverse customer requirements. The role also includes documenting design standards, mentoring junior engineers, and aligning projects with company objectives and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to take concepts to production-ready solutions.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles, including materials, mechanics, and manufacturing processes relevant to machinery design.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidEdge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling, detailing, and assemblies.
- Basic Working knowledge of Electrical Engineering aspects related to machinery, control systems, and integration with electronic components.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in industrial machinery or textile machinery / Material Storage system design, including exposure to warping, material handling, or technical textile equipment and Vertical lift module / vertical storage carousel , is highly beneficial.
- Ability to interpret engineering standards, perform tolerance analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across production and service.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Effective communication skills and experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
- ERP proficiency and the ability to work smart and independently are essential for this role. The individual will be primarily responsible for creating and maintaining master data within the ERP system.
